Yes folks, last Thursday it was indeed. An electrical storm blew through – complete with thunder and lightning. The temperature dropped overnight, and the rain changed to freezing rain. Friday morning we woke up to a world dipped in ice. See how the tree glistens?
I didn’t bother trying to chisel my car out of the ice until late Friday.
Of course it’s been snowing this weekend – probably about another 6 inches so far. It’s a good weekend to stay inside, make the chicken fricassee that didn’t happen last weekend, and work on the Rosebud shawl.
To end this post, I’m happy to say that I’m hauling myself out of the depression that hit me like a ton of bricks on January 1st. I’m getting my eating back on track (no more butter tarts: James do you have those in NZ?), and getting back to the gym. I don’t want to post my workouts here, but I would appreciate it if, every so often, some of you gym bunnies who read this blog (Franklin, Marq1, and anyone else) would leave a comment asking how it’s going. Peer support and accountability is a really good thing for a fitness program.
